PlayStation Days of Play 2026 runs from May 27 to June 10 with discounts on Ghost of Yotei, Helldivers 2, Death Stranding 2, PS VR2, DualSense controllers, and a 33% PS Plus upgrade deal. But there is no PS5 console discount and no PS Portal discount this year — which tells you something about where Sony thinks demand stands right now.

Which Game Deals Are Actually Worth It?

I have been through enough Days of Play sales to know that "hundreds of deals" usually means about fifteen good ones buried under a mountain of mediocre discounts on games you already own. This year is a bit different. The headline titles are genuinely strong, and several of them are hitting their lowest prices ever.

Ghost of Yotei is the standout. If you have been waiting for a price drop on Sucker Punch's follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, this is your moment. The game launched to strong reviews and the Days of Play discount brings it into impulse-buy territory for anyone who was on the fence. Helldivers 2 is another no-brainer — it remains one of the best cooperative shooters available, and the discounted price makes it easy to convince friends to join you. Death Stranding 2 and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered round out the big first-party offerings, both at meaningful reductions from their launch prices.

Beyond the headliners, the digital store has hundreds of deals that range from genuinely excellent to "we need to pad the list." My advice: sort by discount percentage and work your way down. The indie titles hiding in the middle of the list are often the best value in the entire sale. I picked up three games during last year's Days of Play that I ended up playing more than any AAA release that quarter.

The PS Plus Upgrade Deal Is the Sleeper Hit

If you are sitting on a PS Plus Essential or Extra subscription and have been curious about Premium, the 33% upgrade discount is genuinely the best deal in this entire sale. Premium gives you access to game streaming, classic titles from older PlayStation generations, and — crucially during Days of Play — over 40 indie Game Trials that let you play full games for a limited time before committing to a purchase.

The Game Trials feature alone is worth the upgrade during this window. Forty-plus indie games that you can try without risk is the kind of discovery tool that the PlayStation Store desperately needs. I have found some of my favorite games through trial periods, and the curated indie selection this year looks stronger than previous iterations. If you upgrade now, the 33% discount applies to the remaining months on your current subscription, so the math works out better the earlier in your billing cycle you do it.

What Sony Left Out — and Why It Matters

Here is the part Sony does not want you to focus on: there is no PS5 console discount. None. Not on the standard model, not on the Digital Edition. In previous years, Days of Play reliably included at least a modest console bundle deal. The absence this year is conspicuous and suggests one of two things — either Sony is confident enough in PS5 demand that it does not need to incentivize purchases, or there is a hardware refresh coming soon enough that they do not want to flood the market with discounted current models.

The PS Portal is also missing from the sale, which is even more telling. The portable streaming device has had a rocky reception since launch, and you would think a price drop during Sony's biggest annual promotion would be the obvious play to move units. The fact that they are not discounting it either means they genuinely believe the current price is sustainable or they are planning a hardware revision that would make a discount now look bad in retrospect.

The accessories that did make the cut — PS VR2, DualSense controllers, and Pulse Elite headsets — are all worth considering if you have been waiting for a sale. The PS VR2 discount is particularly notable given how rarely Sony drops the price on its VR hardware. If you have even a passing interest in VR gaming, this might be the cheapest the headset gets before the next generation.

Days of Play 2026 delivers strong game deals and a genuinely useful PS Plus upgrade offer, but the missing console and Portal discounts tell a story about Sony's hardware strategy that is worth paying attention to. Buy the games. Grab the PS Plus upgrade. But do not expect any surprises on the hardware side.
